6th Chords

So, I'm back from my vacation in Florida! I got to stay at the Delano Hotel in Miami Beach, which was quite posh. So now, I'm back and will be putting up a new video every day or so, so please come back often. Here's today's video, which goes over six chords and is sponsored by the chord Eb.

A little inspiration for potential piano men and women

OK. So I would love to make a video, but I'm out of town until next Tuesday. But I'll keep putting stuff up here -- but no videos 'til next week.

This story is from the Baltimore Sun, it's about a guy who plays in a piano bar. I thought you might enjoy it.

The Piano Man.

If you think you've started too late, and it takes years and years to learn to play the piano, think again! This kid is only 11 and he's playing professionally. Right, you say, must be some Mozart. Well, maybe, but even if you have less gift, a little effort can make your piano enjoyment much more enjoyable!

Obi Wan buys a car

A Video Introduction to Nate's 3 Finger Method

So, as I said, I'm going to try to post free video lessons here every day in 2007. This lesson is an introduction to my 3 finger method, which you see demonstrated in the flash movies on pianochordfinder.org, and that I teach in my book "How to Speed Read Piano Chord Symbols."

How to do a B Major Scale

I'm going to start putting up free video lessons in my blog every day (or as often as I can), so that people will want to come back and visit. Here's our first one. Fingering on the piano is not that difficult if you follow simple rules.

RULE 1: KEEP THUMB OFF THE BLACK KEYS

The best way to start to learn this rule is to check out this video that shows how to properly finger a B Major Chord.

The Key is to use the thumb on the B and E keys, while using

a) your index and middle finger on the two black keys

b) your index, middle and ring fingers on the three black keys.

I thought this was a fun video and I wanted to share with my PianoChordFinder.org friends.

$50, 000 a month from Ipod Vending Machine?

The world keeps changing. Would you believe that a single vending machine selling Ipods did over $50, 000 in business?

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (subscription) that a single iPod vending machine sold a thousands of dollars worth of iPods in one month. A VP of Business Traveler Services is quoted as saying, "We've done about $55,000 in a month in gross sales just for the one on Concourse A. This is becoming the future for some high-end products in places like airports where space is at a premium." If you're willing to drop $349 plus tax, the iPod is yours.

I wonder if you throw in an extra 50 cents, if you can get Fritos with that.
